Good field work begins with synchronized data, credible instruments and a simple system map.
1. Capture one complete snapshot
Record suction, discharge, motor load, speed, seal-liquid flow and temperature, gas temperature, valves and process rate at the same time.
2. Validate measurement context
List instrument location, units and expected range. A pump-inlet gauge may not represent the process vessel across a restriction.
3. Add history and a sketch
Include earlier readings, maintenance and process changes. A marked drawing of piping, separators, valves and test points often reveals the next move faster than disconnected notes.
General industrial guidance only. Qualified personnel should review equipment design, process conditions and site risk before changes.
