Before you spend money restoring iron, make sure the water is not stealing the vacuum.
1. Vapor pressure sets a physical limit
A liquid ring pump cannot be evaluated without the vapor pressure of its seal liquid at the actual temperature. As temperature increases, vapor pressure increases and the margin to deeper vacuum changes.
2. The right comparison uses corrected conditions
Compare the current operating point with the manufacturer’s stated curve basis and corrections. Avoid promising a fixed capacity loss per degree; the result varies with design, pressure, gas composition and the rest of the system.
3. Recirculation turns temperature into a system question
In partial- or total-recovery arrangements, the separator, heat exchanger, makeup flow, cooling utility and fouling condition determine whether heat leaves the loop. A warm day may expose a marginal heat-rejection design that looked acceptable in cooler conditions.
